Are You Really Crazy or Are They Just Stupid?

Mental health is an issue that has only recently been taken seriously. Even more so recent for particular populations, racial and ethnic groups. As human beings functioning in this society, our primary source of judgment is dependent upon the physical senses. Especially what we can see and since mental health is usually invisible, it’s difficult to measure. Whatever we can’t easily detect and measure tends to be ignored. So, for awhile mental health was easily ignored and assumed as pretentious behavior or something being wrong with your head. Today, we understand mental health more seriously and classify it’s categories into a diagnostic manual known as the DSM. There are various types of mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, borderline personality, bi polar, etc. But being crazy may be entirely different, because it’s really just another person’s limited perspective on an individual or group of people.

What is crazy?

Someone that is crazy may have extreme beliefs or they may act in behaviors to which others may not understand.

Initially what people meant by crazy is having bipolar, multi-personality disorder, schizophrenia, neurological disorders like tics or Tourette’s syndrome, or having one of the cluster A,B or C personality types. These personality types range from OCD, Antisocial, Paranoid personality to Narcissism. Since forever, the only people who seemed to thrive were the narcissist, while others seemed to fail and be classified as crazy and unable to work. Today times may have changed. Due to the fact that most so called crazy people are very creative, and now have many outlets to freely express themselves without doing anymore harm than the average normal person. However, it’s important not to confuse a person who truly has a mental health personality type with a person who’s just acting or playing a part or role for the purpose of entertainment. That improper judgement is where people are just stupid.

SME(Social Media Entertainment)May Conflict With Your Regular Lifestyle

Social media entertainment is a huge misunderstanding because people have a limited capacity to think. Day-to-day work life is time consuming. It’s difficult to separate that part of the mind and understand those who have an alternative lifestyle and that’s okay. Try showing your mother or father the TikToks that show up on your feed. They probably won’t get it because your parents are old fashion and their sense of work and entertainment is outdated. So, to that particular population and generation, the majority would view people on TikTok as crazy, stupid or nonsensical. But that is just their perspective because of their lifestyle. Fortunately, those with a more mutable personality type may be able to live a regular lifestyle while enjoying other people’s entertainment and unique ways of networking and sharing information.

The point is that other people may not actually be crazy.

You may just be stupid.
